Newly-crowned 2018 Formula Renault Northern European Cup (NEC) Champion Douried Ghattas secured pole position for the final round of the season at Hockenheim amid changeable conditions this morning [23rd September].
The Anders Motorsport racer’s best time of 1:40.869s around the 2.8 mile Baden-Wurttemberg venue gives him the best opportunity to make it six race victories in a row and end his maiden season of international single-seater competition on a high.
Phil Hill will line up alongside as he chases a maiden victory for the Swiss ScoRace outfit, with team mate Sharon Scolari alongside.
The trio did well to mix it with their more experienced Formula Renault Eurocup counterparts, again re-enforcing the NEC’s position as a fantastic platform for learning with the 2.0 litre, Tatuus-built car.
R-ace GP’s Gabriel Gandulia rounds out the field, with the Argentine looking for an eighth consecutive podium finish in the final race at 16:35 CEST today.
