Doureid Ghattas says the focus for himself and Anders Motorsport needs to remain on being the fastest full-season Formula Renault Northern European Cup entry after a positive debut on the streets of Pau.
The German marked his debut in the championship by finishing highest of the full-season entries in both torrentially wet races, by virtue of which he also claimed a pair of top-ten finishes.
It proved the perfect response after damage earlier in the weekend necessitated repairs between sessions to his #7 machine, for which he paid tribute to rapidly growing outfit Anders Motorsport.
Heading next to Monza – a circuit Ghattas has never competed at – he insists the primary objective is to maintain the upper hand over his closest rivals.
“It was a positive weekend, and a good start for us,” said Ghattas.
“The conditions were very heavy because of all the rain, it was difficult to hold the car on the track but we did okay in the circumstances.
“The team at Anders Motorsport have done a fantastic job all weekend and I’d like to thank them for their hard work.
“I’ve never been to the next circuit, Monza, before, but I’m hopeful it’ll be a good weekend for us. Being the fastest full-season NEC driver is a good start, but we have to continue like this.”
